Free Online Ebooks

The Online Books Page

The Online Books Page offers readable online books in their entirety without charge.

This site acts as an index, but not as an archive. If you’re an avid reader or just curious, you should check out this site. It’s all donated and free for public use. Included in the index are “A Celebration of Women Writers”, “Banned Books Online” (see the Free Speech Online Blue Ribbon Campaign logo above) and “Prize Winners Online”. Amazingly, they ask nothing in return as they share it forward.

an opportunity to share:

If you want to share some time visit the Project Gutenberg Distributed Proofreaders Project site.

Our community of proofreaders, project managers, developers, etc. is composed entirely of volunteers. 691 active users in the past twenty-four hours. 1,477 active users in the past 7 days. 3,077 active users in the past 30 days.

I’ve signed up for this volunteer opportunity. There is a very simple form with an email accuracy check and account activation link. Once you have activated your account, it will take you directly to the Site Progress Snapshot a with real-time workflow diagram for you to jump into and start proofreading or look into providing content for the site. Like any volunteer situation you’re not bound to anything. Just participate, have fun and meet some awesome individuals.
